Shalun Beach

Further north from Tamsui lies Taipei’s only beach within the boundaries of the city grown not drawn, Shalun. I’ve not been there often, it’s a far ride from the city’s east, from where it is easier to travel north.

It’s a great place for the weekend, and even though many Taiwanese prefer to stay out of the sun and within range of an AC, Taipei is a big city, and there are still enough people weird and strange enough to follow the call of the sea and sand.
