Pesen

There is a third German word for driving fast, one I liked most: “pesen.” It’s probably a local slang word, “cruising” might be a translation fit to its spirit. But whereas cruising is more about lowering the windows in your cabriolet to let your arm hang out, “pesen” is more about the joy of the speed itself. It’s about the experience of the road more than about being seen. And compared to yesterday’s “braken” and “brettern,” it’s not about danger per se.
