購買幸福 (Buying Happiness)
The images from today and yesterday (and Monday and last Saturday) are from a photo walk with some other amazing Taipei street photographers. (See comment.) One of the funniest encounters happened during the Golden Hour, as we approached a glorious Bentley, parked directly at the waterfront where most of the flàneurs pass by. A jolly man sat on a bench nearby, and as he saw us approaching his car with our cameras excitedly beckoned us to come. “Isn’t this a beautiful car? It’s perfect! Look at the color! It’s a special color, (something-)green. Here, let me show you the leather!”
I have deep prejudice towards people buying expensive cars and parking them at a place to show off, but I quickly realized that this guy wasn’t such a guy. He was just in love with a piece of magnificent engineering and wanted to give everyone the chance to experience it themselves!
(He didn’t even want to be photographed together with his car. “No no, not me! The car! You have to photograph the car!”)
